Cultris Challenges Rules

The Purpose
Vision: To help Cultris players find balanced opponents.
Mission:
1. Host Weekly Tournaments consistently (2 weeks per round), with ELO rating system.
2. Inviting Cultris players, both the masters and beginners.
3. Show rating list - where you can find players that are nearly the same level as you.
I. Forum Rules
Spamming or bumping a topic purposively, posting inappropriate contents such as offense, porns/sexual contents will immediately be banned. Accidental ones get warnings before being banned.
Posting links is totally allowed, except for those which contains inappropriate contents.
II. Rated Games Rules
To participate in Rated Games, you must have Cultris 1.9.

1. Rating Formula: Winner will gain rating depending on his and his opponent's rating. Loser will lose the same amount of rating.
Rating Change = (L - W + 500) / 10
L = Loser's Rating
W = Winner's Rating
Ratings are used to find you the players with nearly the same level as you.
2. Tournament System:
All tournaments held in Rated Games will be 1 vs 1.
Contact your opponent by being online and ready in the Chatbox
a. System Swiss
Players are first divided into 2 halves after sorted by rating. Then the top rated player from the first half will play against the second half's top rated player, and so on.
Each win is worth a point. Player with most points rank top.
In the next rounds, the players with the same points will face each other. If there are more than 2 players with the same points, Progressive Score (PS) will determine it instead.
After each round, your PS is added by the amount of your current points.
b. Half Competition
Players are divided into some pools, each with 4 players. Every player will play against every other player in the same pool. Next, the players that finished in 1st place will face players that finished in 1st place as well, and so to the players that finished in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place.
III. Additional Forum Rules
a. Activity points: You gain 5 points by replying to a topic, and 10 points for opening a new topic. Do not spam though, it may lead to ban.
b. Reputation: You gain reputation if someone pressed the 'Thanks' button. The thanks button should rarely be pressed and will be monitored quite intensively.
